The Peninsula Hotels Launch 2026 Art in Resonance Programme

Dr. William Lim’s Walking On A Bright Future

As a global leader in luxury hospitality, The Peninsula Hotels unveiled its 2026 Art in Resonance programme during Hong Kong Arts Month in March, transforming its flagship property into an immersive celebration of contemporary art, craftsmanship and culture. The initiative reflects the brand’s enduring commitment to creative collaboration and positions The Peninsula at the forefront of culturally driven luxury travel experiences.

The latest edition featured newly commissioned works by Angel Hui, Albert Yonathan Setyawan and Dr. William Lim, each bringing a distinct artistic perspective to the hotel’s iconic spaces. From Hui’s luminous goldfish installation across the façade to Setyawan’s intricate ceramic installation in The Lobby, the programme invited guests into a layered, sensory experience that blurred the lines between art, design and hospitality.

Angel Hui’s Swimming in Light brought a sense of movement and playfulness to The Peninsula Hong Kong’s façade, with shimmering embroidered goldfish appearing to drift across the building’s exterior and iconic awnings. Meanwhile, Albert Yonathan Setyawan’s Metamorphic Modulation transformed The Lobby into a contemplative, sculptural environment. Comprising more than 700 hand-crafted ceramic pieces, the installation explored repetition, form and perception, inviting guests to experience the work from multiple vantage points as light and shadow shifted throughout the space. Together, these works highlighted the diversity of artistic expression at the heart of Art in Resonance, reinforcing The Peninsula Hotels’ commitment to supporting contemporary artists on a global stage.

A standout moment came through Dr. William Lim’s Walking On A Bright Future, which saw The Verandah Café completely reimagined as a surreal, immersive environment. Combining large-scale textiles, pattern and narrative, the installation offered a transportive guest experience—underscoring The Peninsula Hotels’ ability to seamlessly integrate storytelling into its luxury offering.

Beyond the visual installations, the programme extended into curated culinary experiences, including art-inspired afternoon teas, pastries and cocktails. These thoughtful extensions reinforced the brand’s commitment to multi-sensory luxury, where every touchpoint—from design to dining—reflects a cohesive creative vision.
